Let's face it - who hasn't just shuddered at reading the word comfy? Every respectable shoeaholic out there knows that no matter what, shoes should never look comfy! It's our mantra - 'high heels are pleasure with pain'.
But what about those days when you start early in the morning and party until late? Even the most dedicated shoe-lover could do with some little tricks to help them through the struggle, so we've done our best to put together some for you.
TIP 1 - NEVER WEAR BRAND NEW HEELS ON A LONG FIRST DATE
That love affair with your new heels should be broken in slowly - don't rush it! Take them out on small dates so that your feet get to know them slowly - you could even have some nights in, snuggled up on the sofa together!
TIP 2 - KEEP A SECRET STASH OF COTTON BALLS HANDY
Nothing spells comfy like soft cotton balls for your toes to sink into especially if your new killer heels are murdering them. Pad out the end of the shoe and around the sides of your toes and you'll be good to go for at least a few more hours!
TIP 3 - WEAR A ROUNDED OR OPEN TOE HEEL
We all need a bit of space sometimes, including our toes. Give them a well earned rest by cocooning them in a round shoe or show them off with a new pretty polish. Open toe heels can relieve the pressure of any pinched toes. Pretty Heels don't have to be pointy.
TIP 4 - SOMETIMES BIGGER IS BETTER.
Lets face it, nobody wants to be the ugly sister trying to squeeze into a shoe that is going to be way too small and it's unlikely they're going to stretch quickly enough. If you're usually a half size, we recommend you go up a shoe size rather than down-sizing. If they're too loose you can always pad them out with a gel insole or cotton balls.
TIP 5 - GO FOR A STRAP OR A THICKER HEEL
A dainty strap or a thicker heel can provide more stability and stop the foot sliding forward, distributing the weight on the ball of your feet more evenly.
